This is a delicious, easy and fast dessert.. Apple Tart Fine.. 1/2 Granny Smith Apple.. Puff Pastry (you can make it yourself but the shop bought is absolutely fine.. ).. Butter, melted.. 30g Marzipan.. granulated sugar, to sprinkle.. 1.. Preheat oven to 180C.. 2.. Use an upside down plate ( a saucer will do ) and cut the puff pastry to your desired size.. 3.. Use a fork and prick a few holes in the pastry to stop it puffing up and falling over.. The secret here is marzipan.. Use about a €2 coin size.. Spread it in the centre of the pastry.. Make sure you cover it with a slice of apple or it can burn,.. Slice the peeled and cored apple using a mandoline or a sharp knife.. Make sure they are thin so the pastry and the apples cook at the same time.. Brush the top liberally with melted butter and give a generous coat of white sugar.. Put in into a pre-heated oven for about 13 min ( if you have a fan over).. You know when it’s cooked when the pastry underneath does not stick when you take it off the tray.. Serve with your favourite ice cream.. • Title: About Us | Martine's Restaurant Galway
Descriptive info: We are a family run business of 13 years that my mother, Martine, started.. Martine built up the business for the past 10 years and a few years ago I started adding my influences.. I m proud to say that we are as busy as ever and building on Martine s passion for customer service.. Last year I spent some time at The Fat Duck in England and what amazed me more than the food was the service.. I think the whole service industry in Ireland lost the run of itself over the past few years and now everyone is trying desperately to re-crown the customer.. We are taking a lot of the arrogance out of the food and wine by concentrating on strong, bold flavors with our 35 Day Dry Age Beef.. Our newest addition to Martine s is our special charcoal oven.. You have not tried a steak until you have tried one of ours!.. We still have a fantastic range of fish and our prices range from €12.. 50 to €28.. Some call us a steak house, some call us a winebar but our customers know that we are a place to come for a relaxed atmosphere with great food and service.. I hope you choose to dine with us and please let us know what you think.. Print.. Facebook.. Reddit.. Email.. StumbleUpon.. Digg.. 7 Responses to.. Paul Campion.. says:.. May 13, 2011 at 4:20 pm.. You need to include opening days  ...   have to say, the food served to us on Saturday was definately some of the finest steak we have ever eaten anywhere in the world without exaggeration.. Cooked to perfection and a taste that can only be described as heavenly, definately a masterclass in the perfect steak.. Thanks so much, look forward to seeing you all again soon.. John.. Judy Stoutenburg.. March 2, 2012 at 8:19 am.. Hi,.. My sister and daughter and I were in Galway in May 2011 from Canada eh.. We had our best meal in Galway at Martine s, thank you very much.. It was one of those times when every mouthful is so delicious that you just sit there murmuring yum sounds, happily engulfed in a heavenly taste explosion.. That doesn t say it at all, but you get my drift?.. I had a wonderful velvety red wine.. It was a Rioja, but my iPhone autocorrected the actual name and I didn t notice until I was back on Vancouver Island.. Can you tell me what it was by any chance? I can t eat your food again unless I come back, but I would love another glass of that red.. Thanks for a great memory! I hope I get to return.. Leave a Reply.. Cancel reply..
