Wexford County Childcare Committee is one of 33 City and County Childcare Committees set up in 2001, as part of National Childcare Policy to co-ordinate the development of childcare locally.. Wexford County Childcare Committee (WxCCC) held its first meeting in the Ferrycarrig Hotel, Wexford, in February 2001.. Free Pre School Year in ECCE.. In January 2010 the Government introduced the Free Pre School Year in Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) Scheme, providing free pre-school places for all children of eligible age.. Birth Dates for eligibility to ECCE.. Born Between.. Start Year.. nd.. February 2007.. 30.. th.. June 2008.. September 2011.. February 2008.. June 2009.. September 2012.. February 2009.. June 2010.. September 2013.. Some parents will find that their childs birth date means they could avail of the scheme in September, and in the following September e.. g.. a child with a birth date of the 05/05/2008 will be eligible to enter the scheme in September 2011 or September 2012, in such cases parents are urged to choose the year that would most suit their Childs needs.. Please note the entitlement is for 1.. continuous year only.. and cannot be divided between two or more Pre School  ...   of certain social welfare payments (the majority of which are covered under the CSS Scheme), Family Income Supplement, and holders of medical cards and GP visit cards, a.. reduction.. in their childcare fees.. Community Education and Training Support Scheme.. The CETS Scheme provides financial support to participants availing of certain FAS and VEC training courses.. VEC students will normally qualify for a CETS childcare place for 43 weeks from Sept to June of each year.. FAS trainees will generally qualify for a CETS childcare place for courses of at least 10 weeks.. How do I access a CETS place?.. If a parent is eligible for the CETS Scheme; they will receive a letter of eligibility from FAS/VEC stating their entitlement.. Part-time day care.. : the pre-school service is offered to pre-school children for a total of more than 3.. 5 hours and less than 5 hours per day.. *Both Full day and Part-time day care services may also include a sessional pre-school service for children not availing of the full day care service.. 3..     Descriptive info: There are currently three types of exchequer funding available to Childcare Providers:.. Free Pre-School Year in Early Childhood Care & Education (.. ECCE.. Scheme) is available to Private and Community Childcare Providers.. Community Childcare Subvention Scheme (.. CCS.. Scheme) - available to community based not-for-profit childcare services.. Childcare Education & Training Support (.. CETS.. Scheme) - available to both private and community fullday and half day services.. :.. This scheme offers one free year of sessional pre-school to a pre-school child prior to commencing National School.. There are currrently 2 different options available under the scheme and providers may choose to opt for one or both.. 38 week option.. : the childcare provider offers 3 hours free pre-school, over a 38 week period, for which the service receives a capitation fee of €64.. 50 per child, per week.. 50 week option.. : the childcare provider offers 2 hours 15 minutes free pre-school, over a 50 wk period, for  ...   scheme which enables community providers to offer parents, who meet certain criteria, a reduced childcare fee.. There are 2 tiers of subvention available Band A; (Includes Parents/Guardians whose main income derives from a social welfare payment such as one parent family payment, FIS, Jobseekers benefit/allowance) Band B; (Includes parents who hold a medical/GP visit card).. These meetings are designed to act as a support system for all community services that are signed up to the Community Childcare Subvention Scheme.. The aim of the network is to assist providers in understanding the scheme better and to share experiences with other groups.. The network meets quarterly..
